And now, you can take another step into the future with the first proofing system to offer automatic spectral-based self-calibration.  Self-calibration is unique to Cromalin® b2, enhancing its position in your workflow as an accurate, high speed and repeatable DOD proofing system suitable for projects that up until now, you couldn’t risk proofing on a lower cost printer. 

The Cromalin® b2 imaging head incorporates a robotic calibration module containing a specially configured Gretag Eye-One spectrodensitometer controlled by the DuPont™ CromaNet™ Proof Server. The calibration module is capable of precisely positioning the instrument on any area of the proof where readings need to be taken. These readings, taken immediately after a proof finishes imaging, consist of LAB and spectral data.  The module automatically extends and retracts the instrument as needed during the reading process.  Automatic capping and uncapping of the instrument lens are supported to protect the instrument during proof imaging
